CS4EDU Workshop 2011

Expanding and Advancing CS Education in High Schools

When: June 8-10, 2011

Where: Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana; Lawson Computer Science Building.

Call for participation

  • Are you a faculty member interested in pilot testing the future AP CS Principles course?
  • Are you a high school teacher interested in finding out more about the future AP CS Principles course?
  • Are you an Education or CS faculty interested in new training programs for CS teachers?
  • Are you passionate about broadening participation in computer science?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, come to Purdue in June to share your ideas and experiences and to learn what others are doing in computer science education.

Agenda

We are pleased to announce that our keynote speakers include two representatives from the CSTA and two of the instructors of pilots of the proposed CS AP Principles course:

  • Chris Stephenson, Executive Director, Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA)
  • Larry Snyder, University of Washington
  • Beth Simon, University of California, San Diego
  • Michelle Hutton, President of CSTA and Director of Technology at The Girls' Middle School (GMS), Mountain View, CA

Registration

  • No registration fee, but registration is required
  • Limited financial support for travel and lodging available
